Partners of Arlington Life Shelter (PALS) is planning a new event to raise money for special projects at the shelter.

The inaugural Taste n Tour is scheduled for May 12 and provide a tour of four Arlington homes, plus food from Arlington restaurants at each stop. The tour will begin at 10:45 a.m. at the former park-and-ride lot at 1000 W. Lamar Blvd., where guests will board a luxury tour bus. Tickets will cost $50.

The event will allow PALS to continue providing "extras" such as monthly birthday and children's parties, Christmas gifts and needed repairs, according to PALS officers Trinea Easley, Carol Zimmer and Michael Cunningham.

The tour will include the homes of Pat and Steve Laird, Marsha and Bill Rickett, Carol and Steve Zimmer and Dody and Paul Wood. Guests can sip wine and sample food from Olenjack's Grille, Piranha Killer Sushi, Cacharel, Piccolo Mondo, Social Bakehouse, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Gene Allen's and La Madeleine French restaurant at each home.
