MLK Holiday Closings on Monday, January 16

The Arlington City Hall, City Tower and many City of Arlington administrative offices will be closed for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 16. Regular hours of business will resume at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17.

Other municipal office closures include Arlington Municipal Court, Arlington Animal Services Center, and the George W. Hawkes Central Library and all branch libraries. The Parks and Recreation Department Administrative Office will be closed as well as the Senior Recreation Center on Eunice Street and the Senior Recreation Center on New York Street. Lake Arlington Office Operations and the Handitran Office and special transportation services will also be closed on Monday, Jan. 16 for MLK Day.

On MLK Day, all recreation centers in Arlington will be open, including the Elzie Odom Athletic Center, Dottie Lynn Recreation Center, Cliff Nelson Recreation Center, and Hugh Smith Recreation Center. The Hugh Smith Indoor Pool, Arlington Tennis Center, and all municipal golf courses will be open. A special note: The Meadowbrook Recreation Center will be open for private rentals only.

According to the city's solid waste contractor, garbage and recycling pickups will occur in Arlington on Monday, Jan. 16, as regularly scheduled.
