Arlington Tennis Center continues to lead the charge in advocating youth tennis with the addition of new tennis courts designed specifically for the United States Tennis Association's 10 and Under Tennis. The grand opening ceremony for the expansion of their award-winning facility takes place at 2 pm on Sunday, November 11.

"We are so proud to offer 10 and Under Tennis to our community,' said Sheryl Osborn, Facility Manager for Arlington Tennis Center. "This program makes tennis even more fun and easier to learn for kids.'

Activities for the grand opening ceremony will include free games and drills with professional teachers on the new courts, as well as refreshments and comments from Arlington and USTA dignitaries. With eight new courts, there will be plenty of room for everyone to have fun learning the game.

10 and Under Tennis is designed for kids to learn and play the game of tennis quickly. Courts, equipment and scoring are adapted for those new to the game so they develop skills and have fun right from the start, according to USTA. Players are divided into ability levels and immersed into the game as soon as possible so that friendly competition motivates them to improve their skills in a fun environment.

"What I love about 10 and Under Tennis is how it gives kids the opportunity to learn the game without the intimidation of full-size courts and equipment,' said Osborn. "Kids get to play the game right from day one.'
