Arlington's own Marc Marchand, otherwise known as The Fishing Librarian, will make another debut on June 2 at Bowman Springs Park from 7am to 12pm. This Family Fishing Adventure event will kick off National Fishing and Boating Week and encourage kids and families to learn the sport of fishing.

Thanks to a state-wide effort by the Texas Parks and Wildlife to promote fishing, June 2 is a free fishing day for all Texas residents without a fishing license.

The Family Fishing Adventure, part of the Naturally Fun Neighborhoods program, attracts 75-150 people for each fishing event. The program is supported by the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation and the City of Arlington."The support from the foundation and city is fantastic. Community efforts like these events are what build thriving communities,' stated Marchand.

Be sure to say hi to The Fishing Librarian. He will be signing autographs during the entire event to any interested fans. And oh by the way, he may just help you catch a fish!

Be sure to bring your fishing rod. Free corn will be available for participants to use as bait. See you at the lake!
