James A. Arthur is thrilled to become a partner with TXU and Texas Tree Foundation in becoming a satellite tree nursery.

Approximately fifty Arthur students recently helped plant 200 trees in pots and moved them to a secure outdoor courtyard area on campus. The goal is to nurture the trees (Live Oak and Cedar Elm) for approximately 3-5 years and then transplant them into the community.

Students got a hand-on opportunity in planting and setting up the irrigation system. They also learned more about why and how trees are important to our everyday lives.

The students and staff wish to thank TXU and Texas Tree Foundation for providing us this unique and exciting opportunity.
