Arlington will be in the global spotlight on Friday, September 21 for the US-China Cross Border Investment Summit at Cowboys Stadium. The international event will bring together high profile investors from China, local business and civic leaders along with governors from three states to forge relationships necessary for international trade opportunities.

More than 50 Chinese investors will be in attendance along with Chinese and international media. Formal delegations from Texas, California, Florida, Oregon, Wisconsin, Hawaii, Nevada, and Washington, DC have been confirmed.

"This allows us to introduce them to Arlington," said Andrea Roy, economic development specialist for the City of Arlington. "We have them right here and get to highlight UT Arlington"s success and unique opportunities for investors like Tech Comm through the Arlington Chamber of Commerce"s Center for Innovation."

In cooperation with the Office of Mayor Robert Cluck and the City of Arlington, Day 1 will feature over 100 investment projects showcased from around the US in addition to the largest Forum on Chinese inbound private investment into the US.

"Events such as these are vitally important, said Roy. "We are laying the groundwork for some very important relationships. We live in a global economy and the Arlington community has the resources, in talent and innovation to play a significant role. We are proud to be the first stop of their North American tour."

Led by senior industry and government leaders, the Forum will cover the role of local governments in investment promotion in China, a broad discussion with Chinese private investors in attendance, and discussion on trends and execution for investment opportunities.

The summit is scheduled from 8am-5pm in Arlington and continues Saturday in Irving.
