Make a Splash for Water Safety

Free event at Hugh Smith Recreation Center and Indoor Pool

Make a Splash, Saturday March 31, and celebrate the importance of water safety with Arlington Parks and Recreation and Mid-Cities Arlington Swimming (MARS).

This fun-filled day of activities and water safety education is part of a national child-focused water safety initiative created by the USA Swimming Foundation. According to the foundation, nine people drown each day in the U.S.

Activities include safety talks, in-water safety lessons, scuba demonstrations, a bounce house, vendors, and pool-time for everyone.

This is event is on Saturday, March 31, from 1-4pm, at Hugh Smith Indoor Pool, 1815 New York Ave. 76010.

The MARS Foundation, through the Make a Splash Arlington event, offers Learn to Swim scholarships for low-income families.
