The City of Arlington will begin construction on a 42-inch water transmission line this week.

The water line construction will run from the intersection of W. Pleasant Ridge Road and Little Road, south on W. Green Oaks Blvd, under I-20, to the intersection of W. Green Oaks Blvd. and Forest Bend Drive.

The 42-inch water transmission line is part of Arlington Water Utilities' mission to invest in its aging infrastructure in an effort to provide more reliable water service to the residents of Arlington.

The project also includes the reconstruction of Little Road from Pleasant Ridge Road to W. Green Oaks Blvd.

The project is expected to take 270 calendar days.

Motorists are encouraged to seek alternative routes, but if unable should be prepared for various and intermittent lane closures on W. Green Oaks Boulevard and Little Road throughout the project. Message boards will be utilized to help prepare and direct drivers during construction.

For questions related to this project, please contact John Morgan, Project Engineer at 817-459-6609.

Update 1/2/2012: Tunneling under Pleasant Ridge Road is near completion. Once complete, tunneling will begin under Kee Branch Creek (next to Green Oaks Blvd). 8-inch water lines are expected to be installed during the first few weeks of January along Little Road, and installation of a 42-inch water line is scheduled to begin toward the end of January.
