If you are looking for the perfect Christmas gift this shopping season, try the second annual Christkindl Market near Rangers Ballpark. Beginning Thursday, Nov. 29, find some great authentic German wares from vendors, including German Christmas Store and Kathe Wohlfahrt.

Lovely handmade ornaments, candles, lace products, wood carvings, jewelry and gifts from European artisans are sold at the pedestrian market similar to the holiday markets held in town squares in European countries.

This year's market, which runs through Dec. 15, will be larger and better with more vendors than in 2011 offering wares. The best part may be the food, such as Austrian and Dutch breads and pastries, German apple Strudel, roasted nuts, and salmon -all ready to eat with Gluewin (spiced mulled wine) or cider.

The market, which is held on the grounds of the Ballpark in Arlington, is the perfect complement to Six Flags Holiday in the Park, the Arlington Holiday Lights Parade and other Spirit of Arlington holiday events.

Admission and parking are free.
