A Japanese news crew from Sapporo Television Broadcasting Co. in Sapporo, Hokkaido, where Yu Darvish played baseball, visited with Mayor Cluck on Thursday afternoon at City Hall.

Reporter Hiromi Kyuushiki is in town covering the Yu Darvish signing with the Texas Rangers. She visited with the Mayor to get his reaction to Darvish playing in Arlington.

"How important are the Rangers?," Kyuushiki asked Mayor Cluck.

"The Rangers are extremely important to the City of Arlington and their fans," replied Cluck. "We are really excited that Darvish is joining our team."

Kyuushiki told the Mayor that tour packages were already being marketed toward Japanese fans coming to Arlington. She expressed to him how very proud the Japanese are of Darvish and now that he is coming to the United States, it's up to Arlington and the Rangers to take of him.

Cluck said Darvish was in great hands and that he looked forward to having fans from Japan visit Arlington.

"I can't wait, I'm ready for the season to start," said Cluck.
