Commuters along Interstate 30 in Arlington were delayed for hours Wednesday morning after a wreck resulted in an Arlington ISD school bus bursting into flames.

Around 7:30 a.m. a Honda Civic and a Chrysler PT Cruiser collided on the interstate between Cooper and Center Streets in north Arlington. One of the cars clipped the bus, sending it smashing into a retaining wall and bouncing over to the guard rail where it quickly caught fire.

Thankfully, no children where on board at the time. The bus driver and an attendant were both taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The crash led to the closure of part of I-30 and created significant delays during the morning rush.
