Arlington’s Leaf Recycling Program Begins Nov. 17, 2012

Starting November 17, 2012, Arlington residents may bring bagged leaves to one of four collection sites for free leaf recycling through February 17, 2013.

An estimated 20% of waste generated by Texans comes from grass clippings, tree leaves and other landscape wastes. Bagging these materials and placing them into the curbside garbage collection system uses valuable landfill space.

Help out by bagging your leaves and dropping them off at one of these locations for leaf recycling:

  • Water South Service Center -1100 SW Green Oaks Blvd.
  • U.T.A. baseball parking lot on Mitchell Street east of Fielder Rd.
  • Arlington Landfill -800 Mosier Valley Rd.
  • Bowman Springs Park -7003 Poly Webb Rd.

In an effort to improve the environment and our community, this service is provided for Arlington residents only.

PLEASE NOTE: No contractors. No trash or tree limbs. No illegal dumping

During the dates listed above, contractors may bring leaves to the landfill only free of charge. For information call 817-354-2300. Leaves from contractors will not be accepted at the other sites.

Composting or mulching your leaves and grass clippings creates rich garden soil and helps reduce landfill waste as well. For more information about mulching leaves, composting, and other alternatives to bagging, visit the Leaf Management website.
