Who can use some extra cash this holiday season? More than 100 job seekers from around the Metroplex attended the recent Arlington Christkindl Market Job Fair in the Diamond Club at Rangers Ballpark. After completing the required job application, people waited patiently as two vendors, Käthe Wohlfart and German Christmas Store, conducted on-the-spot interviews to fill several part-time positions at the German-style holiday market.

Dieter, founder of The German Christmas Store, said he was searching for 6-10 people to man his two booths at the Arlington Christkindl Market opening on November 29.

"I want people who are friendly, outgoing and authentic,' said Dieter, who moved to Texas from Germany in 1990. "I need workers who are social media-savvy as well because we want to have a lot of fun during the 17 days of the market. And if they speak German, that's a bonus.'

One of those eager to secure a part-time position was Crystal Olivarez, a food vendor for the Texas Rangers during the baseball season. "My supervisor suggested that I come to the job fair to find some work during the offseason,' said Olivarez. "I am trying to earn some extra money to buy Christmas presents for my family.'

The Arlington Christkindl Market, which runs November 29 - December 15, features authentic German cuisine, beverages, entertainment, arts & crafts and holiday gifts.

The market's main entrance is at Road to Six Flags and Ballpark Way. Admission and parking are free. For more information, visit www.arlingtonchristkindl.com.
