City Works to Clear More Than 146,000 Outstanding Warrants

If you've got an outstanding warrant in Arlington, time's up. The Arlington Warrant Roundup is underway. "It's about compliance with the orders of the court," says Municipal Court Director David Preciado. "Failure to appear in court is a violation of the law."

Prior to the Roundup, the City's Warrant Division mailed nearly 20,000 letters to offenders in Arlington warning them about the outstanding warrants. Offenders can also find their names on the City of Arlington website.

There are more than 146,000 outstanding warrants in Arlington. Arrests can occur in the home, workplace or wherever individuals are found, however violators are encouraged to clear outstanding warrants and avoid arrest. The Warrant Roundup will continue through August 3.
