From a treat for all mothers, to the return of free concerts, or chowing down on some tacos, here are a few ways you can enjoy your weekend in The American Dream City. 

“(Momma) Squeeze the Day” with Arlington Parks and Recreation 

Come have a relaxing morning with Arlington Parks and Rec at the East Library and Recreation Center 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2022. There will be some tea sandwiches, treats, and a fun time making exfoliating scrubs. Don't miss out on a chance to win a soothing spa item! Click here to register.  

PFL returns to Esports Stadium Arlington 

The Professional Fighters League (PFL) presents MMA for the first time in a sport-season format where individual fighters control their own destiny, competing in a regular season, playoffs, and championship. This event 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2022 at Esports Stadium Arlington features Welterweights and Women’s Lightweights. Register here

Levitt Pavilion’s Concert Series returns 

The Levitt Pavilion’s Concert Series returns Friday, May 6, 2022 and Saturday, May 7, 2022 Friday night enjoy Tejano music from Gary Hobbs and Conjunto Baraja de Oro. Then Saturday night, Country stars Brent Alexander and Billy Dean take the stage. It all gets kicked off at 7:30 p.m. each night. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and beverages. Food trucks will be available along Abram Street. 

An Evening in the Round with Linda Davis at Arlington Music Hall

You can enjoy this ticketed event 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2022 at Arlington Music Hall. Three of Nashville’s most talented singer/songwriters bring a little taste of Music City to your hometown when they perform an “Evening in the Round.” The intimate night of acoustic music, starring three-time Grammy award winner Linda Davis and hit songwriters Lang Scott and Bill Whyte, will be injected with hits, humor and a whole lot of down-home appeal. This enjoyable night of music will see each artist taking a turn at the microphone, playing songs and sharing the stories behind these hits. The audience can expect to hear some familiar tunes recorded by some of today’s hottest artists, as well as Whyte’s own brand of sometimes twisted but always funny songs.

UTA’s Annual Glass Art Sale

The University of Texas at Arlington’s Department of Art + Art History’s Annual Glass Art Sale will take place at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 810 S. Davis St. was initiated on loading dock behind the art building in the mid 1990’s by founder David Keens, in order to raise money to buy raw materials, equipment, tools, and development scholarships. Over the past 25 years, the annual event has grown into a World-class showcase of glass created by students, faculty, and visiting artists. Nearly two thousand works will be available for purchase, ranging from $5 paperweights to multi-thousand-dollar collector artworks. There will live glassblowing demonstrations, and a small selection of works for silent auction, which will go LIVE at 2pm. Come early to find the best deals.

Yoga with Arlington Yoga Center

Give your sun salutation with nothing standing between you and the big, blue sky. Join Arlington Yoga Center instructors for yoga classes held 9:00 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Knapp Heritage Park. This event is free and open to all skill levels.

10th Annual Salute to Community Bands Concert

Join the Arlington Community Band as they host the 10th Anniversary Salute to Community Bands Concert-a-thon 9:00 a.m. Saturday May 7, 2022 at Irons Recital Hall on the beautiful University of Texas at Arlington campus. Bands from all around the DFW metroplex will be showcasing their talents throughout the day. Free to the public.

Spring Time Slime with Arlington Parks and Rec

Spring is here! Celebrate at Cliff Nelson Recreation Center by whipping up all different kinds of homemade slime 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2022. Participants will be able to SLIME their instructor at the end of class. Click here to register

Cowboys Taco Fest at AT&T Stadium

Miller Lite proudly presents the first Cowboys Taco Fest at Miller LiteHouse at AT&T Stadium 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2022. This unique festival will not only include a variety of world class tacos, but live performances by country music stars William Michael Morgan, Hayden Coffman, The Powell Brothers and Payton Howie as well as local Hispanic entertainers. Celebrate Cinco de Mayo by enjoying over a dozen types of tacos at Miller LiteHouse at AT&T Stadium, live music, Miller Lite Micheladas, beer, activities, shopping & more! Make Posters with the Plotter Printer at the Arlington Public Library 

Put on your craft hat with the Arlington Public Library. At 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 7 in Maker Teens, you will be learning how to use the plotter printer to create a custom poster. You will use Canva to create a poster and print it using the Makerspace's amazing plotter printer. A Canva account is required. This program will be limited to five participants and will be first come, first served. It is intended for teens ages 13 - 17 only. Learn more here

Dallas Wings Home Opener at College Park Center 

Your professional women’s basketball team, the Wings, open their WNBA season at home at College Park Center 7:00 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2022 against the Atlanta Dream. You can purchase tickets on the Wings’ website.  

NTSC defends homefield at Choctaw Stadium

The North Texas Soccer Club faces off against the Tacoma Defiance 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 8, 2022 at Choctaw Stadium. Tickets can be purchased in advance on NTSC website

“Gracias Mama” A Mother’s Day Concert 

 Javier Aguilar, with his incomparable voice, will pay tribute to mothers in a special Mother’s Day concert 6:00 p.m., Sunday, May 8, 2022 at Arlington Music Hall, filled with the best classical repertoire for the occasion. Tickets can be purchased on the Arlington Music Hall’s website. Javier Aguilar is an ambassador of Mexican Mariachi Music. Javier has shared the stage with the great Vicky Carr, Yuri, Ana Barbara, Graciela Beltran, Steeven Sandoval, Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán, Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlán, Mariachi Los Camperos among others. He has several record productions including his latest album “Vas a acordarte de Mi” which was produced under the direction of the Grammy multi-award winner, producer and arranger Manuel Cazares. El Mariachi Pura Sangre de Javier Aguilar is a mariachi band, which in a short period of time is becoming one of the best mariachis in North Texas. In August 2021, the band accompanied the great Steeven Sandoval. El Mariachi Pura Sangre de Javier Aguilar is a diverse mariachi band made up of women and men, merging the talent of young musicians with elements of greater experience in the world of mariachi music. Special presentation of the spectacular SIMA Folkloric Ballet.
