A team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), will arrive Feb. 17, 2020, to examine all aspects of the City of Arlington Dispatch Services Division's policy and procedures, management, and operations.

Verification by the team that Arlington's Dispatch Services Division meets the Commission's state-of-the-art standards is part of a process to gain re-accreditation – a highly prized recognition of 911/Dispatch excellence.

As part of the on-site assessment, agency employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments by calling 817-308-0652 or 817-308-0990 between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18.

Telephone comments are limited to 10 minutes and must address the agency's ability to comply with CALEA's standards. A copy of the standards is available online at http://www.calea.org/content/standards-titltes or by making an appointment to view the standards in Dispatch Services. The local contact is Darnesa Patterson at 817-543-5901.
Anyone who wishes to submit written comments about the City of Arlington Dispatch Service's ability to comply with the standards for re-accreditation may send them to the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement, Inc. (CALEA), 13575 Heathcote Boulevard, Suite 320, Gainesville, Virginia, 20155.

The assessors are: Chief William Bleyle with the Onondaga Sherriff’s Office Jamesville Correctional Facility in Syracuse, New York, and Officer Brent Grammel with the Union Township Police Department in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Once the Commission’s assessors complete their review of the agency, they report back to the full Commission, which will then decide if the agency is to be granted re-accredited status.
