Taking down the Christmas tree is always a bittersweet moment. But rest easy knowing it will live again — this time, as mulch. In the latest edition of Neighborhood Network News, we'll help you find a Christmas tree recycling center, safely dispose of cooking grease and introduce you to the newest way to connect with us. It's a to-do list you won't mind tackling.

✅ Give your Christmas tree new life

From Dec. 26. 2019 to Jan. 11, 2020, you can drop your Christmas tree off at the Arlington Landfill or the south Arlington Calloway's Nursery. We'll recycle it into mulch, which will be given away to residents next spring. Click the link above for more information.

✅ Check the holiday schedule

There will be no trash or recycling pick-up on Christmas or New Year's Day. Leave your recycling out Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019 for a make-up collection round.

✅ Protect your pipes

Make sure to safely dispose of your cooking oil. It will protect your pipes and keep our infrastructure running smoothly. You can drop off grease at Tierra Verde Golf Club and Dunlop and Vandergriff Parks. Click the link for more information.

✅ Text us!

We have a new way for you to stay in touch with the City of Arlington — meet Citibot. Text "Hello" to 817-409-4110 to get started. You can get your questions answered plus report any issues in your neighborhood.
