In this month's edition of Arlington Eats, host Andrew Taneilian visits The Hive, the newest addition to Downtown Arlington's Urban Union neighborhood.

You'll find the new lunch spot next to Sugar Bee Sweets Bakery. And that's no coincidence. Sugar Bee owner Heidi Allison says she had the idea for The Hive after looking at her own lunch routine.

"I just think people kind of missed an additional sandwich place they could go to for lunch," Allison said. "That's something that we all enjoy here we were ordering from other places sometimes."

The menu includes a variety of soups and sandwiches including the hatch pimento sandwich and the hot pastrami.

"It kind of goes hand-in-hand with the bakery, as far as making our own bread" Allison said. Several items on the menu also incorporate ingredients used at Sugar Bee.

The Hive is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at 201 N. East Street. Click here for more information.
