Preparations are well underway for the November 10 Re-LEAF tree planting event benefiting victims of April's tornadoes. City officials and members of Keep Arlington Beautiful have been busy soliciting community support to gather the volunteers needed to assist with distributing and planting more than 1,000 free trees.

"We have contacted several local organizations, including churches, schools, UT Arlington and environmental groups,' stated Jennifer Chadwell, Assistant to the Director and Keep Arlington Beautiful Staff Liaison. Event hosts need at least 300 volunteers to help assist with the plantings, yet are planning to recruit 500.

As volunteers begin to sign up for the event, Chadwell issues a reminder for participants. Interested parties are encouraged to "like' the official Keep Arlington Beautiful Facebook page and to "attend' the official event. For additional event information, visit our Re-LEAF page.
