Arlington's own Sugar Bee Sweets Bakery will be making its TV debut at 9 p.m. tonight on Cooking Channel's Cake Hunters.

In the episode, the owner of custom bike shop, Strokers Dallas, is throwing a big party to celebrate 20 years in business. Sugar Bee Sweet Bakery, which recently relocated to downtown Arlington, is one of the bakeries featured.

Heidi Allison, owner of Sugar Bee Sweets, visited with MyArlingtonTX.com about her move to Downtown Arlington and what it was like to participate in Cake Hunters.

We saw you recently moved to Downtown Arlington. Tell us about your new location and what you offer.

Our new location is part of the Urban Union development along Front and East streets. It is a great walkable area and we love the revitalization of the old buildings in this area. We chose this building because it gives us a bigger kitchen and the opportunity to grow!

How long have you been in business in Arlington?

We opened our first location in late 2010, so we've been in business around 7 years.

How did you get the opportunity to participate on Cake Hunters?

We were contacted by the Cake Hunters producers in early fall 2016. We did a Skype interview and the next thing we knew they called and said we had been chosen for an episode they were filming in the DFW area! It was a long, exhausting and fun filled filming day and can't wait to see the finished product on air tonight.

What was that experience like?

It was fun and much different than you think it would be. We filmed for 12 hours for maybe 5 - 10 minutes of the show....I had no idea filming for a reality TV show would be so exhausting!

What are you most excited about people seeing in the episode?

I'm excited for people to see all of the steps that go into putting together our custom cakes and the fun we have doing it! We put our heart and soul into everything we do and hopefully that shines through in the episode tonight.

What is your dream for Sugar Bee Sweets?

My dream for Sugar Bee Sweets is to keep making people smile with what we make for their special events and to keep growing!

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Come by the new shop and check out our assortment of goodies. Don't forget that Valentine's Day is just around the corner!
