Boys & Girls Club of Greater Tarrant County
Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County are renovating and updating the safety and monitoring procedures at the organization’s Main Branch, East Branch and Kromer Branch. Our grant makes it possible for the Clubs to introduce improved secure check-in and check-out, additional doors with restricted access functionality, including construction, technical and software aspect of the renovations.

Texas Health Resources Foundation
The Arlington Tomorrow Foundation grant provided funding to renovate the Arlington Memorial Hospital hospice unit and adjoining family lounge. The project’s goal was to continue to provide a peaceful, home like environment where the hospice team provides short term symptom relief around the clock for the comfort of approximately 300 patients annually and the peace of mind for their loved ones.

Community Enrichment Grants

25 Ladders
The Foundation’s grant underwrote the 25 Ladders 3 week I Rise Summer Program for 20 rising fourth grade students struggling with reading at an Arlington Independent School District campus. The program’s focused on literacy with an introduction to Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math and Science.

Arlington Master Chorale
The grant provides support for the Arlington Master Chorale performance with Dr. Mack Wilberg, Music Director of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in March 2019. The performance included Arlington Master Chorale's 100 voice choir accompanied by a forty-piece orchestra consisting of local musicians.

Arlington Pregnancy Center dba Metroplex Women’s Clinic
The Foundation’s grant provided support for the capital needs associated with the Women's Clinic new
location located on Hwy 287 in southwest Arlington. This highly visible and accessible new center includes a new training facility, enabling the Center to host more free classes for clients, including pregnancy health education, certified childbirth classes, parenting, and job skills classes.

The Foundation’s gift targets the organization’s Thriving Families Program which assists clients with a portion of one month’s rent or utilities, as well as provide one to two days of meal assistance.

Cancer Care Services
Our program support provided funding to the Journey of Hope team which works to ensure cancer patients have access to life sustaining medical care, case management and services which include direct financial support, including assistance for health insurance premiums and prescription medication costs.

During 2019, the Journey of Hope team plans to provide financial support and case management services to 600 Arlington residents. During 2017, 451 Arlington clients were served with 1,230 staff encounters, 785 supplies provided, and 226 people receiving case management and/or counseling.

Catholic Charities Diocese of Fort Worth, Inc.
Catholic Charities of Fort Worth Stay the Course™ Plus intervention is offered at all five Tarrant County College campuses. The innovation program was designed to address low rates of community college persistence and completion among low income students by combining rigorous, comprehensive case management with targeted emergency financial assistance (EFA), savings incentives, and employment services. The program’s goal is for participants to graduate from community college or transfer to a four year institution, moving them forward on their path out of poverty to lasting economic stability. 

The Foundation’s grant provides vital financial resources to support the complex needs which may negatively impact the success of students at the TCC Southeast Campus in Arlington. Specifically, the grant will underwrite costs associated with education, training, and skills required of a 21st century workforce and empowering them to contribute to the city’s continued economic growth and prosperity. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, seeking a degree or certificate, qualify for a federal Pell Grant or have an annual household income below 200% of the federal poverty level, have completed fewer than 30 credit hours at a community college, and be enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours.

Communities Foundation of Texas – 2019 North Texas Giving Day grants and bonus funds
The Communities Foundation of Texas North Texas Giving Day is the largest on-line giving event in the country. In 2019, more than $50 million was contributed across the region benefitting almost 3,000 charities. In Arlington, almost $1.8 million was donated through 7,300 contributions. 

The Arlington Tomorrow Foundation is a top-tier champion of North Texas Giving Day and contributes $50,000 to local charities participating in the event. 

  • Overall, 169,375 donations amounted to $50.1 million raised across the region; 2,988 charities registered for the event with 120 from Arlington
  • 7299 gifts totaling $1,796,731 dollars were donated to Arlington charities (up from 6,440 donations of $1.6 million last year)
  • Green Oaks School won the $10,000 People's Choice Award sponsored by the Gene and Jerry Jones Family Arlington Youth Foundation. More than 5,000 votes were cast.
  • Time block $5,000 block grant recipients were:
    • Arlington Master Chorale, 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. (252 donations before 10 a.m.!!)
    • Grace Prep Academy (schools only time block) 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
    • Friends of the Levitt Pavilion, 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
    • Mission Arlington, 7 p.m. to midnight
  • Two $5,000 grants awarded from the stage were:
    • Arlington's Mayor's Committee on People with Disabilities
    • Wildlife on the Move
  • 46 Arlington-based organizations operating with $250,000 or less in annual operating budgets and that participated in the Charity Showcase will each receive a grant of $434.

Colorful World Foundation’s mission statement is “to bring quality of life and well being to the new immigrants from Southeast Asia and other underserved Asian immigrants living in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex.” Our grant supports the volunteer based organization targeting health care services and health fairs for more than 1,000 Asian residents in Arlington annually.

Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains
The Foundation’s grant underwrites the Girl Scouts at School program serving more than 160 girls at three elementary schools – Crouch, Johns, and Keys Elementary schools. Through school based and staff led troop experiences, girls receive at least two hours of Girl Scout activities twice per month throughout the school year averaging 40 hours per troop annually. As with volunteer led Girl Scout troops, Girl Scouts at School troops earn badges and awards based upon their learning experiences.

Guide Dogs of the Blind Fort Worth Puppy Rescue
Our grant helps support expenses related to the Guide Dogs local chapter volunteers raise the puppies from 8 weeks of age to 16 months of age and to begin their preparation for formal guide dog training.

Harvesting in Mansfield Center is a food pantry for individuals and families serving over 130,000 children and families in 2018. The Arlington Tomorrow Foundation grant provides support to add new service days to the Center dedicated exclusively to Arlington families in need of food assistance services.

Helping Restore Ability is dedicated to improving the quality of life for Arlington’s disabled population seeking attendant care services. Our grant provides assistance in enrolling the growing number of Arlington clients seeking attendant care services and to provide revenue sources to continue to ensure the complex needs of the clients are met in an increasingly challenging Medicaid environment.

Hispanic Real Estate Brokers (HERBA) – Internet Radio Broadcasting Program
HREBA was founded in 2014 when it saw a need in the community for quality unbiased education about the home buying process and financial literacy. The Foundation’s grant supports cost associated with a specially designed internet radio network outreach program offering education and information about housing and financial literacy to Arlington’s low- and moderate-income residents as well as the Arlington Hispanic population.

Our grant helps underwrites Arlington’s "Rehab on the Road!" program which demonstrates ways in which the visually disabled can be fully functioning in their own home, career and community by offering 1. Orientation and Mobility, including White Cane Training and Dog Guide/Handler Counsel 6. Group Support and 7. Keyboarding skills.

Meals on Wheels provides home-delivered meals, professional case management, and other needed items or services to elderly and disabled homebound residents of Arlington in response to several community needs: malnutrition, food insecurity, social isolation, poor mental and physical health. Our grant will help underwrite costs associated with providing these services to Arlington clients.

Metro Sports Fieldhouse
Metro Sports Fieldhouse uses sports as a vehicle to promote disease and illness prevention through healthy active living, encourages key life skill development, and exposes our youth to new focus areas including but not limited to STEM, science & technology, and financial literacy programs. The organization develops the athletic and life skills of our young patrons through mentorship, camps, and community outreach programs. The Foundation’s grants underwrite expenses related to these programs.

River Legacy Foundation
The Arlington Tomorrow Foundation grants supports the 2020 traveling exhibit Art & Science of Arachnids hosted by the River Legacy Foundation. This exhibit is the largest touring exhibit of arachnids in the United States featuring three themed cubes which hold 100 live arachnids and illustrates the connection with arachnids in film, literature, and music. The exhibit will November 2020 through February 2021.

SafeHaven of Tarrant County
The Foundation’s grant will help SafeHaven provide over 6,000 hours of individual counseling, play therapy, family therapy, and peer support groups for children and adults to approximately 900 women and children victimized by domestic violence. This evidence based psychotherapy model combines trauma sensitive interventions with cognitive behavioral therapy to effectively address the needs of individuals experiencing post traumatic stress disorder or other behavioral problems related to traumatic life experiences.

The Franklin Imagine Group – Camp Lotus The Franklin Imagine Group’s Camp Lotus is designed to provide youth with hope and a vision to see themselves successful in whatever career they chose. The week-long camp offered various workshops and breakout sessions focused on cultural programming and the many facets of the music industry.

The Warm Place
The mission of The WARM Place is to provide year round grief support services to children ages 3 ½ to 18 and their families, as well as young adults ages 19 to 25, who have experienced the death of a mother, father, sister, brother, grandparent, or other loved one. Funds from the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation will provide the Grief Support Program for one year to 10 families from Arlington.

COA City Department Grants 

COA Department of Communications – Citibot Pilot Program
To enhance engagement between the City of Arlington and its citizens, Citibot -- an interactive text messaging platform which enables residents to ask questions and get instant answers – was launched with the support of the Foundation’s grant. The program is designed to ensure residents have full access to City services for addressing resident’s concerns. The platform will be offered in several languages and provides the ability for residents to communicate with the City with easily accessible technology.

Located along the city’s major highway entryways, the City of Arlington’s gateway monuments create defined city limit sites and enhance the community’s branding and beautification at its primary transportation corridors. The monuments’ stature exceeds 20’ and include highly fabricated steel, LED lighting, irrigation and landscaping.
