Hundreds of Arlington families will have food on the table, thanks to the kindness of their neighbors and community organizations.

Destiny Pointe Christian Center and Mona’s Heart Outreach partnered with the Tarrant Area Food Bank Thursday to open a drive-thru food pantry. Volunteers distributed fresh food to about 300 families, which equates to around 800 people.

"Everybody who comes through this drive-thru, our prayer is they walk away a little bit stronger, more encouraged and certainly more inspired that they too can go and lift somebody up," said Destiny Pointe Senior Pastor Renee Hornbuckle.

Demand for food assistance has skyrocketed since the coronavirus outbreak forced businesses to close or reduce services. Click here to donate to Tarrant Area Food Bank or receive assistance
