The Arlington Police Department received information from a local North Texas police department that a known offender was operating a stolen vehicle in our area that was connected to recent felony offenses in Arlington and another city. This information was relayed to patrol officers by detectives. On Tuesday, December 3, 2019 around 2:05 p.m., an Arlington Officer located the suspect vehicle and the suspect matching the description provided by detectives near N. Oak Street and Fuller Street. Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop near Mesquite and Randol Mill Road.

The driver fled in the stolen pickup truck. Approximately nine minutes later, the suspect was driving northbound on Bowen Road near W. Abram Street at a high rate of speed when, for an unknown reason, the suspect lost control of the pickup and left the roadway striking a utility pole and two unoccupied cars in a business parking lot. The suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Both the north and southbound lanes of Bowen Road were closed in order for investigators to conduct a forensic examination of the roadway evidence. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office will identify the deceased once next of kin have been notified. At that time, the department will release suspect case information on pending bond cases and other criminal investigations that are ongoing with the suspect in coordination with other law enforcement agencies.
