It's going to be a few days before city officials have results after three consecutive nights of targeted mosquito spraying across parts of Arlington. But they believe the three consecutive nights of spraying had a positive impact in the fight against West Nile. The spraying effort ended around 4 o'clock Wednesday morning. Over the weekend, five thousand households received notification targeted spraying would begin in their neighborhood. It was launched Sunday evening and covered approximately 1,200 acres. City crews are going to continue their mosquito surveillance and testing in the affected areas and those results should soon indicate the impact of the spraying effort. In addition, larvaciding continues throughout the city where any standing water is a potential breeding place for mosquitoes.
