1. Six Flags Over Texas

Six Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas, continues its 57th season in The American Dream City. The park will open this weekend for guests to enjoy their favorite coasters and attractions, while preparations continue for the late spring debut of the ultimate Super-Villain thrill ride-HARLEY QUINN Spinsanity. The park's operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. 2. Meet the Easter Bunny at The Parks at Arlington Mall

From now until March 31, Arlington families can bring the Easter Bunny and the kids together for the perfect photo opportunity at the lower level near Dick's Sporting Goods. Please remember to reserve your place before you go to avoid waiting in line.

  • Monday-Saturday: 10:00 AM-8:00 PM
  • Sunday: 12:00 PM-6:00 PM
  • Saturday (3/24): 10:00 AM-9:00 PM

3. Brunch & Brushes at Dottie Lynn Recreation Center

It's a date! Arlington mothers and daughters are invited to enjoy a morning filled with bright colors, beautiful paintings, and a tasty brunch this Saturday, March 24, 2018. Brunch and Brushes is from 9:00-11:00 AM at Arlington Parks and Recreation's Dottie Lynn Recreation Center, located at 3200 Norwood Ln, Arlington, TX 76013.

4. Tents & Tales Campout at River Legacy Parks

Pack your tents, flashlights, and sleeping bags and set out for the wilderness in The American Dream City! Join Arlington Parks and Recreation for a campout at River Legacy Parks (701 NW Green Oaks Blvd.). Tents and Tales Campout is Friday, March 23 from 4 PM to 8 AM Saturday, March 24. The night will include dinner, a movie under the stars (Despicable Me 3), sleeping bag story time and s'mores roasted over a fire pit. It's $10 per person, children 2 and under free. Pre-registration is REQUIRED. Call 817-459-6434 for more information and help registering. No pets please! Every child must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

5. Live Music at Grease Monkey Burger Shop & Social Club

Head over to Grease Monkey Burger Shop & Social Club in Downtown Arlington for two nights of live music this weekend. On Friday night, Velvet Love Box performs at 9 p.m. The band features three veteran musicians from the North Texas area: guitarist/vocalist Scot Cloud, percussionist/vocalist Brandon Bumpas, and vocalist/bassist Neil Schnell. On Saturday night, residents and visitors can check out Acoustic Hash. That show also starts at 9 p.m. Grease Monkey is located at 200 N Mesquite St, Arlington, TX 76011.

6. Friday Night Films: Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Arlington residents and visitors are invited to watch Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the second installment of the Star Wars sequel trilogy directed by Rian Johnson. The movie will be shown in the Rosebud Auditorium on the campus of UT Arlington. There will two viewing opportunities 4 p.m. & 8 p.m. on Friday, March 23, 2018. Tickets will be $3 and UTA EXCEL accepts either cash or card. Concessions, drinks, and free popcorn will be provided.

7. Live Music at J.R. Bentley's

Danni & Kris will perform this Friday, March 23, 2018 from 8-11 p.m. to kick off the first of two nights of live music at J.R. Bentley's. On Saturday night, the Bryan Lucas Duo will play from 8-11 p.m. Situated in a historic home, J.R. Bentley's has the feel of an authentic English pub and features several local and area bands throughout the year. J.R. Bentley's is located at 406 W Abram St, Arlington, TX 76010. Join Arlington Animal Services for a tail-wagging, family-friendly, pet-saving community event this Saturday, March 24 at the PetSmart in the Arlington Highlands, 203 E. Interstate I-20, Suite 101, Arlington, TX 76018. Adorable, adoptable pets looking for new homes will be available at the mobile adoption unit from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for immediate adoption. 14. DAMC & Bicycles, Inc present the Downtown Arlington Bike Ride & Pub Crawl

Come to Downtown Arlington for DAMC's first Bike Ride & Pub Crawl! Residents and visitors will meet at 101 Center at 101 E. Abram St at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 24. The event starts off with a 5.5 mile bike ride throughout the Downtown area. When we arrive back, we will bike from pub to pub. Maps and discounts will be available to participants. This is a free event made possible by Bicycles, Inc and Downtown Arlington Management Corporation.

15. Shows at UTA Planetarium

UTA Planetarium continues to offer shows to residents and visitors. This includes Spacepark 360: Infinity, a planetarium show designed to recreate the experience of amusement park thrill rides, roller coasters, pendulums, inverters and more.
