Arlington Gives! NTX Giving Day

The Arlington Tomorrow Foundation is celebrating 15 years of giving, and during the upcoming North Texas Giving Day on Sept. 22 will be awarding 21 bonus grants totaling $115,000 to local nonprofit organizations and hosting a free community concert at the Levitt Pavilion downtown.

North Texas Giving Day is an annual 18-hour online giving event, coordinated by the Communities Foundation of Texas that encourages residents to contribute to the nonprofit organizations of their choice. All contributions made between 6 a.m. and midnight on this day are matched in part by the Communities Foundation of Texas.

Since 2014, the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation has sponsored free Arlington Gives! community concerts and awarded 60 grants totaling $345,000 to recognize and highlight Arlington-based nonprofit organizations and to help North Texas Giving Day contributors' dollars go even further.

“Nonprofits serve a vital role in ensuring the health and vibrancy of our community —it’s critical we help them thrive,” said Carolyn Mentesana, Arlington Tomorrow Foundation executive director.

Time Block Grants

Throughout the day on Sept. 22, the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation will award $5,000 bonus grants to six large Arlington nonprofits, and six to smaller Arlington groups with an annual operating budget of less than $250,000. All winners must receive the largest number of donations during the following time blocks: 6 a.m. to 9 a.m., 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. and 10 p.m. to midnight.

Two schools that raise the most money during select time blocks will also win $5,000 bonus grants. Schools have their own fundraising block from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. to compete for bonus grants.

People's Choice Awards

This year, two $10,000 People’s Choice Award grants will be awarded to one organization and one school receiving the most votes through our Survey Monkey “text voting.” A special QR code will be posted on the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation’s social media accounts and shared with participating Arlington-based charities on Sept. 22. Show your love by voting for your favorite Arlington charity using the link to between 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. No donation needed for the People’s Choice voting – just one vote per cell phone or computer from anywhere in the world! Spread the word to your organization’s supporters near and far.

On Stage Drawings

Random drawings of $5,000 each will be announced for five organizations, one large, one small, one combined, and two schools, on stage before the Arlington Gives! free community concert. These winners must have a representative present at the concert to win. This year's concert will feature Emmeline, a local artist, as the opening starting at 6:30 p.m. and The Brad Thompson Band at 8 p.m. The concert, held at Levitt Pavilion across from City Hall, will also be live-streamed for those who cannot attend. Arlington Gives! attendees are invited to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and their own food and drinks (as long as they are not in glass containers). Food trucks will also be available.

The 2022 North Texas Giving Day and the Arlington Gives! activities will wrap up the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation’s commemoration of its fifteenth anniversary and a milestone of $42 million contributed to a Thriving Arlington. We hope to see friends, families, volunteers and supporters of Arlington’s nonprofit community at Arlington Gives! on North Texas Giving Day, Thursday, September 22, to help mark the occasion and celebrate the power of philanthropy.
