Arrest Made in Homicide Investigation

On Saturday, January 18, 2020, the Arlington Police Department was notified by the United States Marshal’s Service in Shreveport, Louisiana that Leah Franklin, a 31-year old woman, was arrested on one count of Murder resulting from the death of Antonio Merle on January 11, 2020. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the case a homicide. The suspect remains in the Shreveport Jail while pending extradition back to Tarrant County. Detectives quickly determined that she was the only suspect involved in this case.

ORIGINAL RELEASE JANUARY 11, 2020:
On Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 2:44 a.m., officers responded to a reported stabbing in the 5700 block of Prescott Drive. A male subject was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Investigators are interviewing persons that may have knowledge of what happened. No arrests have been made at this time as detectives continue to work this active case.
