Tierra Verde Golf Club will host the eighth annual Tees and Trees Open on Friday, April 19 at 1 p.m. The annual event, held in conjunction with Earth Day, supports Arlington Golf's work to highlight environmental initiatives and fund sustainable programs. Proceeds from the tournament help fund programs at Tierra Verde Golf Club including interpretative signage, bird feeders for Boy and Girl Scout Troops, and tour literature.

The course is the first Audubon Signature golf course in Texas, and the first municipal course in the world to earn that distinction. As a past winner of the prestigious Environmental Leader in Golf Award, the facility is looked to as the standard for sustainable golf in North Texas. Tierra Verde hosts informative tours as part of its outreach and education programs, typically hosting hundreds of guests annually. They are educated on environmental practices, sustainable management techniques, and green development. The Tees and Trees event is an important part of this outreach to golfers and guests alike.

Tournament entrants will receive complimentary admission to Tierra Verde's famed Party on the Patio concert series that evening, featuring live music from 26 or 5 to 4, The Chicago Tribute Band beginning at 7 p.m.

Tierra Verde was named the top golf course in DFW by Avid Golfer magazine in 2012 (public-premium category). To register or for more information, please call Tierra Verde Golf Club at 817-478-8500.
