Homeless Engagement And Resource Team (HEART)
Arlington PD's Homeless Engagement and Resource Team (HEART) consists of one Sergeant and one co-responder team which includes one Officer and one Crisis Intervention Specialist.
HEART's primary role is to provide accessible resources to unhoused individuals residing in Arlington. The team also provides community education, hosts events, and maintains partnerships with the community.
In an effort to meet the needs of a community that has many barriers, they have established community events(PDF, 137KB) including HEART-felt Mondays, which occur twice each month alongside community partners and HEART Mobile Office Hours which occur monthly.
No registration or RSVP is required. Walk-ins are always welcome.
DRC also partners with HEART to complete housing assessments and offer a variety of other beneficial resources.
