Pug-a-Palooza this weekend in Arlington

1. Yappy Hour at Rush Creek Dog Park – Event Postponed to Saturday, April 27

Grab your pup and head to Yappy Hour at The American Dream City’s newest dog park. There will be food trucks, local craft beers, live music and plenty of activities for your dog too. Register at the link above to take advantage of the reduced $10 early admission. Or you can pay $15 at the door. The first 500 people to register get a special-edition cup and a free beer. The fun starts at 5:30 Saturday evening.

2. Picnic & Egg Hunt at The Oakridge School – Event Canceled Due to Inclement Weather

Get your Easter party started a little early this year. The Oakridge School is hosting its annual picnic and egg hunt Saturday from noon until 2 p.m. There will be face painting, a petting zoo and playground to go along with the egg hunt. The event is free and open to everyone.

3. Pug-a-Palooza

Whether you’re a Pug owner, or just follow a few on Instagram, this is your chance to give back. DFW Pug Rescue is hosting Pug-A-Palooza Sunday at River Legacy Park. There will be a prize wheel, cake walk, merchandise booths and Pug races (yes, that’s a thing!) The event begins at noon and runs until 4 p.m. at the Legacy Pavilion.

4. Family Night at Six Flags Over Texas

Enjoy the park while helping a good cause. Friday night is Family Night at Six Flags. The park will be open from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. to benefit Children’s Health medical center. You’ll get shorter lines and discounted admission.

5. Texas Tech Watch Party at Texas Live!

With Tech being the only Texas team in the Final Four, we’re all Red Raiders fans now. “Texas Live!” is showing Saturday night’s game on the 100-foot screen. There will be giveaways and drink specials. Tip-off is at 7:49.

6. April Cools’ Day

April Cools’ Day is a safe space for everyone. The event offers activities for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. There will be face painting, sensory games and photos with the Easter bunny. Everyone is welcome. The fun starts at 10 a.m. Saturday at Randol Mill Park.

7. Elvis Tribute

Throw on your blue suede shoes Saturday and head to Arlington Music Hall. Donny Edwards will perform a tribute to The King himself, Elvis Presley. Tickets start at $15.

8. Sunday Brunch

Start your Sunday with Eggs Benedict or Shrimp & Grits. Ventana Grille at the Tierra Verde Golf Club is now serving brunch. To make reservations, call 817-548-5047.

9. Earth Day Festival

Celebrate Earth Day this weekend at River Legacy Living Science Center. There will be nature walks, time with animals, and a variety of crafts and games. The event is free and begins at 10 a.m.

10. Critical Mass Bike Ride

See the American Dream City on two wheels this Friday. Cyclists will meet at Levitt Pavilion Downtown Friday night at 7:30. Make sure to bring a helmet and some water and be ready for a 10 mile social ride through town.
