As we finish out the year at the shelter, we still have lots of "presents" (adoptable cats and dogs) available waiting for a new "furever" home. Our inventory includes more than 14 cats of which over half are considered VIP pets. VIP pets can be designated as such due to being in the shelter for an extended amount of time. Of the adoptable cats available, several have been in the shelter over two months—much too long for any animal!! If you can't make it to the shelter, be sure to check out the cats we make available for adoption at the PetSmart in the HIghlands. We have absolutely been amazed at how many dogs have made their way to the shelter this year. There are over 24 dogs available for adoption with most of them having achieved VIP designation. Some of our adoptable dogs have made the shelter their home for over 30 days. All of them are eager to find a new home to curl up by a fire, or by a pet guardian's side during the winter months. VIP pets have the benefit of being able to be adopted at a reduced adoption fee. As our shelter continues to remain at capacity for dogs, we hope that you will consider including in your New Year's resolutions the decision to adopt a new furry friend from the shelter. Don’t forget, a VIP dog (or cat) is still a perfectly wonderful pet looking for love, they just need someone to give them the chance they deserve.
