Fortune magazine’s annual survey of the World’s Most Admired Companies (2024) includes D.R. Horton  for the second year running. D.R. Horton, headquartered in Arlington, TX, has built over 1 million homes since it was founded in 1978. The Fortune 500 company (ranked #120) is the largest U.S. homebuilder by volume since 2002, operates in 29 states and employs over 13,000 workers nationwide. 

The World’s Most Admired Companies list was procured from a survey of corporate reputation among 660 high-revenue companies ($10 billion+) in 52 industries across 29 countries. To determine the best-regarded companies, Fortune partnered with Korn Ferry to ask executives, directors and analysts to rate enterprises in their own industry on nine criteria, from investment value and quality of management and products to social responsibility and ability to attract talent. A company’s score must rank in the top half of its industry to be listed.
