Kubota College Baseball Series

Cabaret at Theatre Arlington

Catch a Tony Award-Winning Classic, Cabaret, at Theatre Arlington. Willkommen, bienvenue, welcome! It’s 1929 in a seedy Berlin nightclub, where romance and hedonism thrive. As the Third Reich emerges, trouble is everywhere, even in the Cabaret. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday & Saturday, and then 2 p.m. Sunday. Purchase tickets on-site or at Theatre Arlington’s website. The show runs from Friday, Feb. 9 until Sunday, Mar. 3, 2024.

Little Explorers – Downtown Library 

Stop by The Play Room at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library on 10 a.m. Fridays for a morning of play-based learning.  This come-and-go program will vary week-to-week as librarians explore art, math, science, engineering, and fine motor skills.  Join the Arlington Public Library as we playfully discover the world around us!  Designed for ages 1-4. Family Storytime – Southeast Branch Library

Join the Arlington Public Library’s fabulous library staff to sing, read and wiggle during storytime at the Southeast Branch Library 10:30 a.m. Fridays. This storytime is geared for ages 2-5. They will read books, sing songs, and have an activity after the program each week. Final Fridays - Family History Workshops for Beginners & Beyond

The Arlington Public Library explore how to get started researching your Family History plus tips, tricks, sources, and practical advice to keep you moving forward into your past — even as an experienced genealogist! It takes place 4-6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, 2024, at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library. No registration is required. In addition to the many free resources the library offers family history researchers both online and in person — such as Ancestry Library Edition, you’ll explore research strategies & organizational techniques that will save you a lot of time and frustration down the road. Then you will discuss four approaches to capturing and conveying your findings to others perfect for both beginners and long-time researchers. Finally, you’ll close the time with attendees beginning or continuing their personal family history research with guidance from Arlington Public Library's Genealogy Librarian and trained volunteers from the Arlington Genealogical Society! The goal is that everyone who comes will leave with at least one new detail or document about their heritage and have an idea of how to continue.

Tween and Teen Hour of Code

Tweens and teens ages 10-17 are invited to spend an hour learning the basics of computer science and coding. This program is ideal for those with very little to no coding experience. You’ll meet in the Explore computer lab on the 2nd floor of the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library. 4:30-5:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, 2024. March sessions: HTML and CSS. While no previous coding experience is necessary, basic computer and typing skills are recommended. Registration is required.

Parents' Night Out - Night at the Movies 

Enjoy a night out while we have some fun 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, 2024, at the Dottie Lynn Recreation Center. Parents' Night Out is a great opportunity for youth to hang out after school. Get wild in our bounce house, play video and board games, and enjoy a themed craft! Dinner provided. Ages 5-12. Click here to register. 

Shows at Arlington Music Hall

The Arlington Music Hall has shows you can enjoy this weekend. You can experience An Evening with Kathy Mattea 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, 2024, and then on Saturday, Feb. 24, it’s Chapel Hart 7 p.m. Click on the event for ticket information.  

Fish Creek Cleanup Challenge

Organizers for the upcoming 6th annual Fish Creek Cleanup Challenge are seeking volunteers to collect discarded cans, glass and plastic bottles, paper and other debris littering the banks of the southeast Arlington creek. It takes place 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024. The cleanup is a family friendly event, with no minimum age to participate. Volunteers are asked to wear long pants, long-sleeved shirts, closed toe shoes or waterproof boots and bring any preferred tools, such as trash grabbers. Pet Adoptions Event

Join Arlington Animal Services mobile adoption truck will be at PetSmart at Arlington Highlands with furry friends to meet 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024. Stop by to visit with an adoptable pet to get some pet therapy and possibly a forever friend. Cannot make it to the event? Silent Book Club 

The book club with no assigned reading and no pressure! They meet once a month at local spots around Arlington & Grand Prairie to read, drink, and be in community with other bookworms. Bring any book you choose, enjoy some refreshments, and stay for optional socializing just before and after our reading time. Meetup location is Nehemiah Coffee, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024.

Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship Series 

The world’s best two-wheel racers converge on AT&T Stadium for one night of non-stop action on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024.  The indoor and outdoor seasons of the SuperMotocross World Championship series consist of 17 Supercross races and 11 Pro Motocross races, providing 28 rounds of racing building towards the 2024 SuperMotocross Playoffs and World Championship Final.  The expansive Monster Energy Supercross FanFest footprint features first and foremost, unprecedented access to the sport’s biggest stars with an up-close and intimate view of their race bikes and team rigs.  As the name implies, FanFest is a festival for the fans and has become a major part of the Supercross experience where fans can jump back and forth between the paddock and the stadium to also watch practice and qualifying prior to the Main Event.

Teens Give Back

Teens join the Arlington Public Library at the Ron Wright Lake Arlington Branch for a chance to give back to the community! The event takes place 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024. Come to make seasonal cards and gifts for seniors who partake in Books on Wheels, the library's outreach service for residents who live in select senior housing facilities. Supplies will be provided.

Melted Crayon Art Ages

Create a unique piece of art by melting crayons on a canvas 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024, at the  George W. Hawkes Downtown Library’s Tinker Room. This class is limited to the first 12 in attendance and is appropriate for ages 9+. Children 9-12 will need an adult present to assist with the craft.

Black History Month Reception: An Evening of Art and Jazz 

Enjoy a cultivated evening of culture by perusing a stunning artist gallery by local Black artists. The event takes place 6:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024, at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library’s [re]Brary A&B. Live music, light bites, and beautiful artistry will fill the library during this night of class and elegance. Cocktail attire requested.
