The Arlington Police Department responded to a shooting call on Monday, May 20, 2019 around 6:45 p.m. in the 2000 block of S. Cooper Street at an apartment complex. Officers located a man lying on the ground in the parking lot with an apparent gunshot wound. Another man with a gunshot wound was driven by private vehicle to a local hospital for treatment while the man found by officers was taken by ambulance. One of the victims was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. The other victim is still in the hospital receiving treatment.

Witnesses informed officers where the suspect was located in the complex. Nicole Walton, a 45-year old female, was taken into custody and transported to the Arlington Jail. She has been charged with one count of Murder and one count of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Detectives are still trying to determine the relationships of everyone involved and what led up to the shooting. Investigators have not ruled out the possibility that this incident is related to a some type of feud from the night before.

Detectives are withholding the booking photo of the suspect for further follow-up investigation. The identity of the deceased will be identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office once next of kin have been notified.
