Here are 5 unique fitness classes you’ll want to try at The Beacon:

  1. Beacon Compete

Young athletes, this one’s for you! Beacon Compete is designed to teach youth (ages 7-18) the proper mechanics for sprinting, jumping, landing, and other athletic movements. Not only will participants learn and train these abilities, but they will also train other physiological elements like agility, power, explosiveness, quickness, and deceleration. At its core, Beacon Compete is all about educating youth on how to move well, do so safely, and have fun competing.
  2. Family Fit

If you’re going to get fit, why do it alone? Family Fit class allows you to enjoy a fun bonding experience while working out with those you love the most! This class is open to adults and their children and offers an engaging workout involving teamwork, all while working up a sweat. You can expect exercises to be based around bodyweight, but weights and equipment are available for adults upon request. (Children must be at least 8 years old to participate).
  3. FUNdamentals

This fun and engaging youth class will teach and train kids in proper athletic movement patterns, bodyweight exercises, resistance training, and interactive social skills. This is a great environment for youth to learn and experience fundamental exercise techniques while having a great time and making friends! Classes will be grouped by ages 7-10 and 11-13.
  4. TRX

One of the most versatile full-body workouts is now available at The Beacon – TRX Suspension training! TRX Suspension exercise equipment is incredibly dynamic and useful, and can accommodate any age or ability and provide an effective workout for a wide range of muscle groups. The TRX class will include a total body program and serve as a great low-impact exercise option for any skill level.
  5. RT Strength

The Beacon’s Resistance Training class will help those who are looking to build muscle, increase tone, and learn how to properly and effectively implement resistance training into their exercise routine. Led by experienced fitness coaches who are able to modify any workout, RT Strength will allow participants to train within their own ability but also have the option to increase or decrease exercise difficulty as needed. The Beacon also offers RT55+ for those over the age of 55 who would like to train balance, coordination, cardio, and strength in a safe and engaging environment.

We hope to see you at The Beacon Recreation Center soon to try one of these engaging and fun activities!Parks
