"Go Green' at Ecofest Arlington

Are you interested in "going green? Head over to Founders Plaza and Levitt Pavilion this Saturday for Ecofest Arlington, a free, friendly oriented event designed to help stimulate environmental awareness. Vendors will be on hand to showcase their green products and practical do-it-yourself solutions for home improvement and maintenance. Don't miss the great local musical talents scheduled to perform the Levitt Pavilion during the day. This event runs 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

This Weekend's Concerts at Levitt Pavilion

The Levitt Pavilion's 2013 Texas Power Fall Concert continues this week with several great artists. Enjoy wonderful music under the stars.

Friday: Marica Ball - Southern boogie and rollicking roadhouse blues.

Saturday: While attending Ecofest Arlington, listen to the sounds of Larry G(ee) and The Killdares. Larry G(ee) has a funky, modern soul sound and The Killdares offer a perfect blend of rock, pop and Celtic.

Sunday: Joe McCarthy & The UTA Jazz Orchestra - Grammy-winning, critically-acclaimed percussion.

Arlington Museum of Art Movie Night: A League of their Own

Watch Tom Hanks, Geena Davis and Rosie O'Donnell in A League of Their Own, a classic about an all-female baseball league. Admission to Friday's night's showing at 7 p.m. is free with purchase of a ticket to see the Women of Baseball Exhibit. The exhibit does not have to be seen the same day as the movie.

Youth Education Town: 30 for 30

Inspired by ESPN's 30 for 30 film series, the North Texas YET in Arlington is presenting 30 events for 30 days. While ESPN used feature filmmakers to recount great moments in sports history, the YET is leveraging its staff to reveal some of the amazing opportunities afforded to the public in its brand new facility.

Come and support the Friends of the Arlington Public Library! More than 50,000 items will be available: fiction, non-fiction, children's books, video's, CDs, DVDs, books on tape and more. Proceeds benefit the Arlington Public Library.
