Arlington Water Utilities is now giving residents another way to manage their water accounts with proactive alerts about continuous usage. Starting Monday, Oct. 21, residential customers with remote read meters that record continuous water usage at a rate of 1 gallon or more hourly for 48 hours will receive an automatic email alert. Continuous usage is unusual for a residential account. It can result in a higher than normal monthly city services bill.

About 69,000 remote read water meters have been installed in Arlington with more added each day. Customers with remote read meters can view their daily water usage and set high bill and high usage alerts by logging in to the City of Arlington’s Know Your H2O account website by clicking here.

The City of Arlington’s tiered water rate structure encourages water conservation by charging a higher rate when water usage for the month reaches certain thresholds. Information on those rates is available by clicking here and in an insert sent with October bills. Visit www.SaveArlingtonWater.com for helpful water-saving tips. Information about how to locate and repair water leaks can also be found here.
