Storm Damage

The morning after a storm rolled through Arlington, uprooting trees, damaging homes, and knocking down power lines, progress is being made for communities affected.

Oncor is reporting approximately 31,000 residents are still without power Friday morning. Full restoration is expected sometime Sunday, October 5. Visit the Oncor Storm Center for an update on power outages.

According to the Police Department, multiple intersections do not have power. Please treat each one as a four-way stop when approaching.

Here are the major intersections still without power:

  • Cooper at Lovers Lane - closed in both directions
  • Bowen Road between Abram and Division
  • Eastbound NW Green Oaks at Fielder Road
  • Westbound Division Street at Collins Street

As of 5:40 a.m., UT Arlington is closed due to a partial power outage and Arlington ISD will be closed as well. Watch the morning newscasts to get a complete list of school closings and delays.

Tree damage is citywide with a number of trees down in yards, parks and in the streets. City crews will continue working Friday morning to clear the debris from roadways. Residents should cut them into four-foot pieces and move to the curb for removal. Residents are asked not to pile tree limbs on the sidewalk or in the streets.
