City departments

Less than a week after high-wind storms descended on Arlington, all City departments are officially returning to normal operations. The Emergency Operation Center has closed, and Oncor restored power to the 36,650 residents whose electricity was cut off from the winds on Oct. 2.

All Arlington ISD campuses are open for classes, and UT Arlington has resumed its normal schedule as well. While the City is still on the lookout for any storm-related damage, all major debris has been removed from roadways, and power has been restored to all traffic signals.

Republic Services will continue to pick up unbundled tree limbs and fence panels curbside in residential neighborhoods through Oct. 18 on your normal trash collection days. Please make sure limbs are no longer than 4 feet. Due to space restrictions, your debris may be picked up on a later trash day if not removed on the next collection day.

Residents can also bring storm debris (tree limbs and fence panels only) free of charge to the Arlington Landfill through Saturday, Oct. 11. During this time, no coupons are required; however, residents must show proof of residency with a current driver's license or water bill.

After postponing the opening due to the storm, Kaleidoscope of Homes will kick off on Friday, Oct. 10. Tickets are available at kaleidoscopeofhomes.org.
