Attention: All owners of non-owner occupied duplexes
The Duplex Inspection Program was established in September 2008 to help reinvigorate neighborhoods and encourage responsible property ownership and maintenance. All owners of non-owner occupied duplexes are required to register their properties. All non-owner occupied duplexes in the city must be registered with the city, and shall be inspected annually for property compliance.
Registration forms must be completed in full and submitted to Code Compliance.

Refer to the Duplex Inspection Checklist for specific details. Code Compliance Officers perform a property and structure assessment on exteriors of all duplex properties. The scoring system rates the structure and property conditions.
A perfect score is 100 and a score of 70 or below is failing.
Properties that pass inspection by scoring above 70 will be exempted from an interior inspection.
Properties with exterior or nuisance violations at the time of inspection which score 70 or below will receive an interior inspection.
Properties with chronic, egregious code violations may be forwarded to the Nuisance Abatement Team (NAT) for review.
Yes, all non-owner-occupied duplex properties are to be registered with the City of Arlington. There is no fee or inspection associated with the registry.
