Apply for assistance with your mortgage servicer, preferably through their website as a phone call might take longer. A confirmation of the forbearance should be provided at the time of application.
This assistance applies not only to the property you are living in, but also to rental properties you might own – even if you are delinquent prior to the release of the CARES Act.
