The City of Arlington has launched a new regular Bond Tracker segment for MyArlingtonTV to keep residents informed about the progress of construction on dozens of projects that were included in the City's bond elections.

This month's episode features the new Rush Creek Dog Park, located at 1900 Valleywood Drive off West Pioneer Parkway. The park is open 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, except for Wednesdays. The park will be closed until noon on Wednesdays for maintenance.

The Rush Creek Dog Park features nearly seven acres of tail-wagging fun with four fenced-in areas for off-leash play. The park, which is free to use, also offers drinking water fountains for humans and dogs, dog bone-shaped benches with shade cover, climbing boulders and security lighting and two parking lots with at least 60 spaces.

Arlington voters approved $500,000 for the Rush Creek Dog Park project in the 2014 bond election. The rest of the construction funding came from park user fees collected by the Parks and Recreation Department.

In November 2014, Arlington voters approved a five-year, $236 million dollar bond package. Projects included in the package focus on street improvements, Parks & Recreation, Fire Department facilities and City Libraries.

The City offers residents an interactive Bond Tracker website, filtered map, updated stories and videos on construction projects, and complete list of the Capital Budget Planning and Project Sequencing for the 2014 Bond Program here.

Each project will be updated on the website and the City will post stories, videos and pictures of the progress of those projects.
