South Patrol Service Center Truck or Treat - Oct. 31

Bring the whole family to meet with officers, take a tour of police cars, and receive a plethora of candy at this year's Truck or Treat! The event is located at the Arlington Police Department's South Service Center on Halloween, Oct. 31, from 6-8 p.m. Parking will be located at the South Water Service Center, located at 1100 S.W. Green Oaks Blvd. Kids can also meet and take pictures with McGruff the Crime Dog and the Arlington Public Library's LiNK Bus will also be on hand to help residents register for a library card.

Hugh's Haunted Family Night - Spooky Swamp - Fri. Oct. 27

Head over to Hugh Smith Recreation Center for a fun-packed night on Friday, October 27 from 6-8:30 p.m. Hugh Smith will be providing a safe place for patrons of all ages to join in the fun of "Trunk or Treat' in the gymnasium, an opportunity to enter Hugh's Haunted House, and so much more! Registration is required and the entry fee is $6 per person. Meanwhile, Hugh Smith Indoor Pool will turn into a Spooky Swamp on Friday. Children and parents of all ages can swim and take part in Halloween activities from 6-8 p.m. $2.50 per person. Hugh Smith Recreation Center - Indoor Pool is located at 1815 New York Ave, Arlington, Texas 76010.

Fright Fest at Six Flags Over Texas

Six Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas, will turn into the Fright Capital of Texas offering the Scariest Fright Fest Ever with an all-new scare zone, eye-catching and thrilling performance, plus a unique event that is appropriate for the holiday season. This year's Halloween festival runs through Sunday, October 29, 2017. To plan your visit in advance, head over to the Six Flags Over Texas for park hours and ticket information.

Salvador Dali Exhibit at Arlington Museum of Art

Salvador Dali was a painter, designer, sculptor, writer and set designer. He was also a master engraver who could produce equally outstanding work in dry point, etching, woodcut or lithography. This exhibition features Dali's full series of Dante's The Divine Comedy, for which each of the lithographs presented required as many as 35 colors. There are a total of 101 pieces included in this exhibition. Salvador Dali: Visions of Eternity runs until January 21, 2018. For more information, please visit www.arlingtonmuseum.org.

Tiny House - Simple Living Jamboree at Arlington Convention Center

Get ready to explore more than 60 tiny living structures, from yurts to bus conversions, learn from the experts and find unique simple living products at the Tiny House - Simple Living Jamboree this weekend at the Arlington Convention Center. Tickets are still available for the world's largest tiny house event, which runs from Friday, October 27 to Sunday, October 29. Tiny house owners, enthusiasts and curiosity seekers will gather to attend workshops, meet with influential members of the tiny house community, and celebrate the movement.

Animaniacs LIVE! at Arlington Music Hall

Animaniacs LIVE! is a musical revue starring original cast member Rob Paulsen (Yakko, and Pinky from Pinky and the Brain) from the beloved Warner Bros. cartoon Animaniacs, which delighted television audiences from 1992 to 1998. He will be accompanied by Emmy winning composer Randy Rogel, who wrote and created many of the memorable songs featured on the show. Animaniacs LIVE! begins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2017. Shows at UTA Planetarium

UTA Planetarium continues to offer shows to residents and visitors. This includes Stars of the Pharaohs, a planetarium show that visitors on a journey to ancient Egypt to see how science was used to tell time, make a workable calendar, and align huge buildings. Drug Take-Back Event - Sat. Oct. 28

Got drugs? The Arlington Police Department and the Water Utilties Department encourage residents to turn in their expired and unused medications for anonymous, safe disposal between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017. Please read about disposal guidelines on the City's website before dropping off expired medications.
