South Street Art Festival - Oct. 13-15

Returning for its fifth year, the South Street Art Festival aims to give artists, musicians and brewers a place to find their audience. The three-day festival, presented by the Downtown Arlington Management Corporation, is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, October 13, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, October 14 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, October 15 on South Street between Mesquite and East streets. Admission is free and free parking is available throughout the downtown district. Visitors will be able to check out more than 50 artist booths, showcasing and selling works in all forms of fine arts including ceramics, fiber, glass, mixed media, photography, sculpture and more.

Arlington Parks - Recreation's Food Truck Friday Lunch Series

The Arlington Parks and Recreation Department's Food Truck Fridays lunch series in Downtown Arlington starts back up again this Friday, October 13. This event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Friday until November 3 at Founders Plaza, 100 W. Abram Street. The park is located next to the Levitt Pavilion, just south of Arlington City Hall. The food truck line-ups will be announced the Wednesday before each event at

Arlington Public Library's Touch-a-Truck Event

The Library's third annual Touch-a-Truck gives kids of all ages a safe opportunity to experience trucks first hand. Join Arlington Public Library on Saturday, October 14 starting at 9 a.m. to explore big trucks and other vehicles from the community. New this year is a quiet hour, from 9 to 10 a.m. The trucks will be quiet during this special-needs and sensory-friendly time. If your child loves trucks but not noises, come early to enjoy them without honks, horns, or beeps. The event is free to attend and runs until 11:30 a.m.

Levitt Pavilion Arlington's Fall Concert Series

Live music continues this weekend at the Levitt Pavilion Arlington for the 2017 fall concert series in Downtown! This weekend's lineup includes Becca Mancari on Friday, Humming House on Saturday and Jack Ingram on Sunday. Fright Fest at Six Flags Over Texas

Six Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas, will turn into the Fright Capital of Texas offering the Scariest Fright Fest Ever with an all-new scare zone, eye-catching and thrilling performance, plus a unique event that is appropriate for the holiday season. This year's Halloween festival runs through Sunday, October 29, 2017. To plan your visit in advance, head over to the Six Flags Over Texas for park hours and ticket information.

Gary Morris, Champions of Magic and Magic Moments "Motown" at Arlington Music Hall

It's a busy weekend of shows at Arlington Music Hall in Downtown! On Thursday, October 12, Gary Morris takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. The country music singer has been asked to perform for every U.S. President starting with President Jimmy Carter. On Friday, October 13, the five world-class illusionists that make up the Champions of Magic will perform at 7:30 p.m. They arrive in Arlington after four years of touring the UK with sold out shows, rave reviews and a run in London's West End. Three former lead singers from The Temptations, The Platters, and The Drifters, three of the world's most renowned vocal groups, hit the stage on Saturday, October 14 at 7:30 p.m.

Bus Stop at Theatre Arlington

Theatre Arlington, which is one of the largest community theatres in the country, opened its 45th anniversary season with Bus Stop, an American classic comedy/drama. The show runs through October 22. Other scheduled shows through next August include the musicals, Plaid Tidings and Footloose, as well as A.R. Gurney's romantic comedy Sylvia. The performance schedule for Bus Stop is included below:

  • Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

Shows at UTA Planetarium

UTA Planetarium continues to offer shows to residents and visitors. This includes Stars of the Pharaohs, a planetarium show that visitors on a journey to ancient Egypt to see how science was used to tell time, make a workable calendar, and align huge buildings.
