 Apartment Development

The Roosevelt, the first phase of the Arlington Commons apartment development, is set to open in October.

The 353-unit complex, built by The Nehemiah Company of Arlington, is located at 425 E. Lamar Boulevard north of Interstate 30. The Roosevelt, a four-story complex with a pool and outdoor entertaining amenities, is marketed toward renters by choice. Pre-leasing is underway for one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, which range from $1,080 to $2,820 a month.

The Roosevelt features two courtyards. The Ultra Luxe Pool Courtyard includes a pool with tanning ledge, designer cabanas and an open air grilling station with kitchen. The Leisure Courtyard includes an entertainment lounge, game tables, outdoor living room, televisions and free wifi. Because of its open lawn, the Leisure Courtyard would be an ideal spot for "an outdoor movie night and a fire pit for relaxing on a cool fall night," said Debra Meers, The Nehemiah Company's marketing director.

The Roosevelt complex will also be accompanied by a linear park, which will be located in the median of Lamar Boulevard. The first phase of the park's construction, which will stretch from Ryan Plaza to Van Buren Drive, is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

The Arlington Commons is a 10-year, $200 million project designed to revitalize Lamar Boulevard and bring high-quality, urban-style apartment living to the city. The development, which has additional phases, will feature approximately 1,300 units by its 2024 completion.

When complete, the project is expected to add $200 million to the City of Arlington property tax rolls. The Arlington City Council has identified "Invest in Our Economy" as a vital component of the effort to ensure that our community continues to thrive.

Strategic economic development allows Arlington to build its commercial tax base while keeping the tax rate low so the city can continue to provide the high-quality services – such as police, fire, parks, and libraries – that our residents expect.
