Volunteer

This summer, library card holders have the opportunity to work off their fines during the Summer Waive. From July 31 to August 5, all Arlington Public Library cardholders can volunteer at their local library branch, in exchange for having library fines waived. This program is available to everyone with an Arlington Public Library card. Limited opportunities are available at every location, so sign up now!

If fines are keeping you from checking out items or using library computers, the Summer Waive can be a great way to restore access. Other options for paying fines include payment plans.

During the Summer Waive, volunteers can work off $8 of fines per hour. One hour is the minimum length of time to volunteer. No credit will be applied to accounts for volunteers who give more time than they have fines. The Summer Waive is only applicable for fines from the Arlington Public Library, not the Mansfield Public Library or Kennedale Public Library.

The Summer Waive is available for all ages. Teens ages 14-17 may volunteer with parental permission. Cardholders under 14 may volunteer when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Parents may also volunteer to waive fines on their child's account.

If you're interested in joining the Summer Waive, contact your local branch for more details.
