Arlington Public Library's ArlingCon Convention

Grab your favorite cosplay costume and gather with fellow superhero fans this Saturday for ArlingCon, Arlington's annual comics, anime, and sci-fi convention. ArlingCon, hosted by the Arlington Public Library and the University of Texas at Arlington, is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 15 at UT Arlington's University Center, 300 W. 1st Street. This free community event, open to all ages, includes workshops and panel discussions as well as a cosplay runway, cosplay contest, vendor and artist hall, exhibits, game room and more. Coffee & Crafting at Dottie Lynn Recreation Center

Get crafty with Arlington Parks and Recreation over coffee and breakfast at Dottie Lynn Recreation Center! Each month, staff will teach you how to make adorable crafts to take home and provide the supplies. They will also serve breakfast, coffee, hot chocolate, tea, and more to enjoy while working on your project. Summer Coffee and Crafting dates are Saturdays July 15, and August 5 from 9:15 - 11 AM. $15 per person. Register online. Levitt Pavilion's 2017 Summer Concert Series

The annual summer concert series continues this Friday, July 14, 2017. Visitors will be able to attend a free concert under the stars three nights a week, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through July 23. A few artists set to hit the stage this summer include Ambrosia, La Tropa F, Reckless Kelly, Sarah Jaffe, Los TexManiacs with Flaco Jimenez and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Bluegrass Band. Pinocchio Commedia - A Youth Production at Theatre Arlington

Pinocchio Commedia opened at Theatre Arlington in Downtown last Friday, July 7 and runs until this Sunday, July 16, 2017. The commedia flavor gives the story of Pinocchio additional vigor and excitement without losing the charm and significant message of Carlo Collodi's famous story. Saturday features both a matinee at 2 p.m. and an evening show at 7:30. Sunday features a matinee at 2 p.m. Seating begins 30 minutes prior to curtain. Regular tickets are $13 and can be purchased at www.theatrearlington.org.

The Sound of Music in Austria by Timeless Concerts

Timeless Concerts is excited to introduce the Trio Phantasy of Austrian composer Joseph Marx (1882-1964) to an Arlington audience this Saturday, July 15 at 8 p.m. Most of the compositions by Marx were art songs, and gained such popularity, that he was hailed the successor to Schubert and Hugo Wolf as song composer. The performance will take place at the Arlington Museum of Art in Downtown. Tickets are $32 for general admission, $27 for seniors, $15 for college students and kids under the age of 18. Six Flags Hurricane Harbor

From thrilling slides to relaxing pools, Arlington residents and visitors will be happy to hear that Hurricane Harbor is now open all week. The water park in Arlington's Entertainment District will be open Thursday through Sunday, July 13-16, 2017. Hurricane Harbor will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday and 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Six Flags Hurricane Harbor features 47 acres of water wonderland to enjoy. Six Flags Over Texas

Spend the weekend at Six Flags Over Texas with all your friends and family celebrating all things summer. Enjoy some delicious summer-time favorites hot off the grill along with American-sized thrills on our roller coasters such as BATMAN The Ride, SUPERMAN: Tower of Power and MR. FREEZE: Reverse Blast. The Joker free-fly coaster is also open at Six Flags. After being lifted straight up a 12-story, 90-degree hill, riders flip head-over-heels up to six times along the weightless journey. Chicago Sky vs. Dallas Wings at College Park Center

The Wings return home this Sunday, July 16 for a game against the Chicago Sky at The University of Texas at Arlington's College Park Center in Downtown. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. CT. The Wings play all home games at College Park Center, a state-of-the-art 7,000-seat arena located at 600 S Center St, Arlington, TX 76019.

Milton H. Greene: Women Exhibit at Arlington Museum of Art

This summer, the Arlington Museum of Art will continue its tradition of photography exhibits with Milton Greene: Women, which opened on May 13 and will run through Aug 6. "Photography has been a huge success at the Arlington Museum of Art," Hightower said. "Our two most attended exhibits, Ansel Adams and Vivian Maier, were photography exhibits. I chose Milton Greene's work because he was famous for his work with celebrities in the '50s, '60s and '70s such as Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Frank Sinatra."
