Create Your Own

Design.Code.Market, a free bootcamp-style class on designing and coding websites, returns for another semester. Participants will learn CSS, HTML, JavaScript and Bootstrap in two-hour sessions over five weeks. With these skills, students will be ready to develop and manage their own websites.

"It takes ;less than a second ;for ;users to form an opinion about your website that determines whether they'll stay or leave," said ;Library Technology Training Specialist Sarai Suarez. "Bad website design ;will ;impact your business."

Creating a website for the first time is a challenge, but Design.Code.Market teaches the skills in easy to understand steps. The workshop is suggested for entrepreneurs, small or home-based businesses, and anyone selling products or services. Learn how to get started with designing a business website and create a beautiful, functional web portfolio.

Design.Code.Market is for students ages 18 and up, and registration is required. Participants should already have basic computer skills, including typing, saving files, using search engines, and understanding how folders work. The Arlington Public Library offers other computer classes that focus on these skills.

Classes start Wednesday, August 2, at the Southeast Branch Library, 900 SE Green Oaks Blvd.
