The east River Legacy Park Collins Street entrance is closed as crews reconstruct the current asphalt park road and parking in the vicinity.

Crews are repairing the severe cracking that has occurred due to shifting soils. Once the project is complete, the concrete paving will last much longer than asphalt and require fewer repairs. The park road entrance will be closed for public access during the entirety of construction, which is anticipated to take five months.

"The new concrete pavement of the entire park road and all parking spaces will have a much longer lifespan and fewer needed repairs which will help keep maintenance and future replacement costs down," Park Planner Eric Seebock said.

The trail will remain open during this time and can be accessed from the west entrance of River Legacy Parks, 701 NW Green Oaks.
