The Arlington community is invited to participate in Court Connection, a free traffic safety program designed for students in elementary school through high school.

Court Connection activities will be held inside and outside the Arlington Municipal Court, 101 S. Mesquite St., from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 28, 2026. This event is hosted by the Arlington Municipal Court along with the Arlington Police Department, Arlington Fire Department and the City's Transportation Department.

Participants can sign in at the entrance to the building and they will be directed to the first or second floor of the court depending on their age and grade they are attending.

Interactive activities will include:

  • Traffic safety activities with free books and activity giveaways
  • Drug and alcohol awareness with DUI goggles and a driving simulator
  • Free bicycle helmet giveaway, while supplies last, thanks to the Texas Medical Association's Hard Hats for Little Heads Program
  • Mock trial experience

Public education outreach is one of the strategies in the City's Safe Streets Arlington Comprehensive Safety Action Plan, adopted by the City Council in December 2024.

By emphasizing safer driver, bicyclist, and pedestrian behaviors and making strategic improvements to street infrastructure, Arlington is working to reduce deaths and serious injuries on city streets by 5% annually with the goal of zero deaths and serious injuries by 2050.
